Connecting Students to Research That Makes a Difference.

Gain the mentorship, resources, and opportunities you need to create impactful, conference-ready research — backed by professors, physicians, and medical students.

Our Mission

We aim to create a supportive platform where students transform curiosity into credible research. Through mentorship, lab placements, poster and publication projects, and training to present at professional conferences, Florida MedConnect helps aspiring healthcare professionals develop the expertise and connections needed to make an impact in medicine.

Research Poster Program

Our Poster Program takes students from initial topic selection to creating a professional, conference-ready research poster. Choose a topic from our wide range of research areas, then work alongside an experienced project lead who will guide you every step of the way. Your work will be backed by a physician or professor, ensuring your final product is not only polished and conference-ready, but also credible and impactful.

Scholarly Publication Program

Completed our Research Poster Program? Take the next step and turn your work into a published paper — with your name alongside medical students, physicians, and professors. In the Research Publication Track, you’ll refine your research into a manuscript and learn the process of submitting to respected academic journals, gaining the kind of experience that sets you apart in the medical field.

Our First Year in Numbers.

We launched in July 2024 with just one professor and 20 students. Now, see how far we’ve come after our very first year.

  • "FMC has empowered me to continue my research journey by enabling me to present at undergraduate research conferences, here I built strong connections with high impact researchers that ultimately helped me secure a top research position at USF Health MCOM. These opportunities not only strengthened my scientific expertise, but also professional networking in the biomedical field. Through our publishing program, our work is not done, as our investigations in the causes of early onset colorectal cancer intend to make a crucial impact among our youth by advancing awareness, inspiring further investigation, and contributing to a collective effort towards improved prevention and treatment strategies.
